Tommo 2014 – Report
Sunday 14/9/14 – Carsington Water nr Ashbourne, Derbyshire
A day of superb Autumn road biking in the White Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands – dry roads, clear skies and a light wind, what more could a sportive rider ask for?! Certainly the best weather the Tommo has experienced over the three years.
Nearly 200 riders set off from Carsington Water with a choice of a long route (127km), a medium route (78km) or a shorter route (47km), there was a route to challenge everybody.
As with all of Dark & White’s based sportives the routes provided the riders’ with a real test. The Peak District’s steep climbs, with their varying gradients sapped the energy from legs, the reward for such effort however was the beautiful views across the Staffordshire Moorlands & Derbyshire Dales.
